Rysy has finally been conquered!
Last year, we failed to reach Poland’s highest peak—Rysy at 2,499 meters above sea level—as warnings about dangerous lingering snow on the Tatra National Park’s website dissuaded us (me and my Son) from taking the risk. However, this year, I cleverly planned our trip to ensure no snow would impede our path. The route was spectacular, taking just 11 hours and 13 minutes from entering to exiting the Tatra National Park at Łysa Polana. The weather was tailor-made; calm and sunny in the morning and cooler clouds arrived later in the day to temper our excitement and save us from getting sunburned. Seriously though, the weather was perfect—cool in the…

Safari in Tanzania – practical information
We didn’t organize the safari ourselves; we purchased a package tour from a local agency that has been organizing safaris for years. The package included pick-up from our hotel in Zanzibar, a flight to Arusha, a driver with a jeep, 2 nights in a lodge (including breakfast and dinner), lunch during the safari, a visit to Tarangire National Park (approximately 6 hours), a visit to Ngorongoro Crater (approximately 7 hours), and a visit to a Maasai village located near our accommodation – the lodge. The organization of the entire safari was very efficient. Directly from the airport, we headed to Tarangire National Park, and by late afternoon, we were checked…

Ngorongoro Crater – the only one of its kind in the world!
Why? Because it’s the largest unbroken, uninhabited, and unaltered caldera on Earth. The crater was formed when a massive volcano erupted and collapsed 2-3 million years ago. It has a depth of 610 meters, and the crater floor spans 260 square kilometers. The floor of the crater lies at an elevation of 1,800 meters above sea level, and the Ngorongoro Crater is recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. It was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, on behalf of the Tanzanian government, manages this protected area. Through the Ngorongoro Wildlife Conservation Act of 2009, the government imposed restrictions…

Tarangire National Park – Tanzania
During our entire trip to Tanzania, what impressed me the most was our 2-day safari on the Tanzanian mainland. Tarangire National Park is beautifully situated in the eastern part of Tanzania. It may not be as famous as Serengeti or Ngorongoro, but it has a lot to offer. It is primarily known for its numerous gigantic African baobab trees and herds of elephants. The name Tarangire comes from the river that flows through the park, the Tarangire River. The park covers a vast area, approximately 2,600 square kilometers. During our visit, we were fortunate to see a lioness hunting, a leopard – or rather a leopardess, African elephants, African buffalo,…

Zanzibar Tales – Delicious Food, Beautiful Beaches, and Hakuna Matata :)
We flew to Zanzibar in early September, a time when the tourist season is a bit quieter – read: not too crowded. The weather was fantastic, with daily temperatures hovering around 28 degrees Celsius. We rented an apartment in a two-story bungalow with a stunning terrace right by the ocean. The resort was located near Paje on the east coast, which was perfect for me, a sunrise enthusiast. During our two-week stay, we explored: Now, onto the food – it was delicious everywhere we went. We dined at our hotel’s restaurant, which boasted masterful cuisine. While there, we even had the chance to cook Zanzibar’s famous Urojo soup with the…

Tatry – Polish amazing mountains!
At the beginning of July – together with my son – we spent magical 4 days in the Polish Tatra Mountains!High, sunny, long and phenomenal – this is how I can briefly describe our short trip.Gęsia Szyja (Gooseneck), Świnica (Swinica), Morskie Oko and Czarny Staw pod Rysami – such points we scored, and of course – Krupówki in Zakopane 🙂

Sollifjell – a beautiful view of the Lysefjord and Preikestolen!
During our stay near Stavanger (we rented an airbnb in Jørpeland to be precise) we went to see the Lysefjord from the other side. From Jørpeland we headed south on road 523 and just after the bridge turn right into road Fv496 and drive along the Lysefjord. The end point was Skrøylå car park. From this place, keeping to the fjord all the time on the left, there is a route to Sollifjel (564 mosl) – a peak above the fjord, from which you can admire the beautiful panorama of Lysefjord and of course Preikestolen 🙂I heartily recommend this route, it is described as easy, it is not long for…

Preikestolen – route, views and a million people ;)
Preikestolen has been on my list for years – finally in May during a long weekend we went to the Stavanger area to explore the city and climb the famous stone platform. I will describe the route here – because looking for information myself – I found many different opinions about the difficulty of this route. Some said it was easy, others said it was extremely difficult. The first time – we start at approx. 11, we were at the top around 12.20. I think everyone had the same plan for this trip because there were a million people on the mountain! Ha, ha 😉 And note: I believe that…

Stavanger – colorful town :)
We took advantage of a long weekend and went to the Stavanger area to finally climb Preikestolen and see the Lysefjord. Usually we visited the North of Norway, Lofoten, Geiranger, Sognefjrd, Olden, etc. This time we chose the South – and as everywhere in Norway, the views are amazing!Below is a small photographic report from Stavanger – a charming town with lots of small boutiques (by the way, I bought a beautiful summer dress there ;), small streets and colorful houses. A style similar to Bergen, but somehow different. I recommend getting lost in the small, charming streets. And find a delicious coffe bar on the way 😉 Beautiful!
