Tarangire National Park – Tanzania
During our entire trip to Tanzania, what impressed me the most was our 2-day safari on the Tanzanian mainland. Tarangire National Park is beautifully situated in the eastern part of Tanzania. It may not be as famous as Serengeti or Ngorongoro, but it has a lot to offer. It is primarily known for its numerous gigantic African baobab trees and herds of elephants. The name Tarangire comes from the river that flows through the park, the Tarangire River. The park covers a vast area, approximately 2,600 square kilometers.
During our visit, we were fortunate to see a lioness hunting, a leopard – or rather a leopardess, African elephants, African buffalo, zebras, impalas, gazelles, beautiful birds.
Attention, attention! Find the mother of the little leopard in the picture below 😉
The landscape is breathtaking, featuring open savannah spaces and some dense bush. This was my first safari in life, and I can assure you it won’t be my last. I don’t know why I didn’t do this earlier. It felt like I was in a massive Zoo where the animals simply coexist. No, they don’t live in separate enclosures (as one might mistakenly assume from watching TV), they all roamed freely together. And we didn’t have to search for them; they were just there 🙂
For me personally, it was an incredible experience – I love nature in its natural form, so observing wild animals in their natural habitat was a truly magical experience!
Join me for the next post – Ngorongoro Crater 😉
